How to check how many mobile numbers are linked with Aadhar?
According to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) guidelines, a mobile subscriber can register up to nine mobile numbers to their name. While buying a new SIM card, a valid proof of address and proof of identity is required. Aadhar card is a valid document accepted by telecom operators for issuing new SIM cards. But fraudulent incidents of people using someone else's Aadhar information for financial crimes are increasing. Thus, DoT has launched a new portal – Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection (TAF-COP), that helps people check how many mobile numbers are registered with their Aadhaar cards.
How to Check how many mobile numbers linked with Aadhaar:
● Go to the official website: https://tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in/
● Enter your mobile number and Request OTP
● Enter the OTP sent to your number and click on submit
● Mobile numbers registered to your Aadhar card are displayed
However, currently this facility is available only for select states. The TAF-COP portal also lets you report and block the numbers that are not yours. Visit the official website to know more.
