What is safe custody?
Safe Custody is a feature that enables you to retain your Vi Postpaid number even if there is no usage, by paying minimal Safe Custody charges.
For how much time I can avail safe custody service?
You can choose to avail safe custody for a period of 1 month, 3 months and 6 months
How can I extend my safe custody request?
You can extend your Safe Custody request in the 7 days prior to Safe Custody expiry, by visiting Vi website or by logging in to the Vi app. You can extend it for 1 month at a time up till 12 months. After 12 months, you will need to reactivate your number for atleast 30 days, before you can avail Safe Custody again.
How can I reactivate my Vi number from safe custody?
You can reactivate your Vi number from safe custody anytime within safe custody duration by visiting Vi website www.myvi.in or by logging on to Vi App
Do I need to clear my outstanding before placing safe custody request?
You need to pay total outstanding dues, along with Unbilled usage charges till date and safe custody charges while placing a request for safe custody.
Your bill will be generated and sent to you on your registered Email ID, basis any outstanding dues post safe custody request. Please pay your bill on time to avoid any late payment charges
How will I be notified when I’m due for safe custody expiry?
You will be notified on your registered email id and alternate number when due for expiry.
What will happen if I do not place reactivation or extension request before safe custody expiry?
Your number will get permanently deactivated if you do not reactivate your Vi no. before the safe custody expiry date.
I am part of Vi family plan, Can I avail safe custody service?
Only secondary members of Vi family plan are eligible for the Safe Custody feature; however there will be no change in family plan rental. A Primary member cannot avail Safe Custody
Can I request Safe Custody after reactivating my number?
No, you will need to wait for a minimum period of 30 days after reactivation before requesting Safe Custody again.
I am a Primary Customer on a Family Plan, can i activate Safe Custody on my account?
No, safe custody cannot be activated on your primary number within a Family plan. For more details or assistance, please call 199
I am a Foreign National. Can I activate Safe custody on my number?
No. Safe custody is currently available only to Indian nationals
