The series is light and feels like a coming-of-age superhero story. Living in Jersey City, 16-year-old Kamala has to manage high-school, come to terms with her college education, career, and her parents' demands. Other than fantasizing about Captain Marvel, this girl must now juggle between her obligations, her superpowers, and her immigrant family’ s expectations.

Kamla’s mother Muneeba has an established set of rules that kamala tries to escape. This portrays that irrespective of creeds and cultures, parents are always gonna be parents. Muneeba has a sense of deadpan sarcasm that is evident in all the teasing, loving, and forgiving involved. Kamala doesn’t have many friends but her relationship with her bff’s Bruno & Nakia is integral to the series. 

A fresh addition to the MCU series, actor Iman Vellani brings a strong charisma and fine acting skills to her first acting role as Ms. Marvel. Kamala's cultural background and Pakistani heritage are great strengths depicted well, along with her familial relationships. In a world full of boy geeks in the superhero realm, it is refreshing to see female fandom Marvel-ously portrayed.  

This drama, adventure television series with 6 episodes is vibrant and fun. With a mix of graffiti animation and live action, the lead role tries to embrace her passions while trying not to hurt her family and their values. Just after the shocking twists and turns of the 5th episode, the larger-than-life finale episode of this series picks up quickly. Kamala tries to come clean to her family and her mother, not only accepts her super abilities but gets her a customized outfit complete with a lightning bolt symbol.
