Login to the Vi app
Navigate to Help > Raise a service request > Activate eSIM
Select device type (Android / iOS) and Enter EID
Select if you want to activate on the same device or another device
Enter the 32-digit EID number for the device you wish to activate eSIM on
Refer FAQs for finding the EID number
** Ensure EID entered is correct as a wrong EID will lead to failure of profile activation
Verify the OTP on your registered phone number.
Enter the OTP received to proceed with the request.
Download eSIM profile
Post successful request creation you can download eSIM profile after 15 mins via
a. Notification received on device
OR
b. Scanning the QR code received on your registered email address
Before downloading the profile or Scanning the QR, ensure the phone is connected to stable/strong Wi-Fi
After switching from a physical SIM to an eSIM, activate the new eSIM profile, remove the physical SIM and restart your device

Locate your 32-digit EID from device settings or dial *#06#. input of 32 digit EID number should be for the device on which you wish to activate eSIM.

Then, confirm by replying: ESIMY to 199
Confirm via automated call
Answer the verification call from our eSIM activation number, starting with 012471***** and Provide Positive consent by pressing "1"
Download Profile
You'll receive A Profile to Download & QR in mail for scanning. You need to visit the Add eSIM/Download eSIM section of your phone for Profile download or You can check your registered email id inbox for a mail from esim@vodafoneidea.com.

An eSIM stands for “Embedded Subscriber Identity Module” that is embedded inside your device. It is a digital SIM that allows you to use a Vi number without using a physical SIM. The Vi SIM profile will get automatically downloaded/installed on the eSIM upon completion of requisite processes.
Currently all devices that have a dual SIM with eSIM support, have one physical SIM slot and an eSIM.
No, customer will continue on his/her existing Vi tariff plan.
You can use dual SIM on your eSIM enabled phone with one physical sim and one eSIM. Since your eSIM enabled phone is already embedded with an eSIM, you will no longer need to obtain a physical SIM to physically insert or remove the SIM in case of any changes such as when taking a new Vi number, changing your existing Vi number from 1 telecom circle to another or in case of lost/stolen device.

For obtaining a new Vi connection, customer needs to visit the Vi Store with his/her eSIM supported device, fulfil the KYC requirements and request for eSIM. You will need to provide your Proof of Identity and address to complete the KYC requirements. The list of documents for a new connection remains the same as applicable for a physical SIM based postpaid connection.
No, you will need to follow the process as mentioned above.
Your eSIM will get activated within 30 minutes of scanning the QR code. Please note, your incoming and outgoing SMS services will be barred for 24 hours as per Govt. regulations.
No physical document is required to activate your eSIM via SMS option. It will be required only in case of lost/ damaged SIM or in case of obtaining a new Vi mobile connection or MNP to Vi

If you terminate the Vi connection, the Vi eSIM profile will get deactived. You can then get the eSIM configured with the other operator’s SIM profile.
At a given point of time, only 1 operator SIM profile can be configured on the eSIM.
Incase QR Code is not received please check spam/junk folder or search for sender id esim@vodafoneidea.com. If the issue persists, please get a different domain mail id such as Gmail and register the new email ID via the Vi App. Post 24 hours from registration of new email id , please send eSIM <space> registered email id to 199 for eSIM activation.

No, once pairing of Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) is completed, and the Apple Watch is connected to cellular network, the Apple Watch can be used independently as an extension of the primary iPhone device to use cellular services with same -terms and conditions as available for primary iPhone device. There is no need for proximity between primary device and Apple Watch. However for connection via blue tooth, proximity is required.
On the Apple Watch control panel you will see green dots at the top left corner. This is an indication that you are connected to cellular network. The green dots will only appear if your iPhone is not within the Bluetooth range with your Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular).
You will need to pair your Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) again to your new iPhone. Your new iPhone will also need to be running on the iOS 13.4 or later version to be compatible with Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular).
