What is an eSIM?

An eSIM stands for “Embedded Subscriber Identity Module” that is embedded inside your device. It is a digital SIM that allows you to use a Vi Postpaid number without relying on a physical SIM.

Who is eligible for eSIM?

Vi mobile Postpaid customers across Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Punjab, Maharashtra and Goa, UP (East),Kolkata, Karnataka, Kerala, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Rest of Bengal, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, UP (West) and Bihar

User should have an eSIM- supported handset (for a list of devices supported, please refer to the FAQs).

How can you activate eSIM on your existing Company paid Vi Postpaid number?

Step 1:

To start the process, company’s authorized signatory needs to send consent request on corporatecare.india@vodafoneidea.com with the below details: .
o Consent for eSIM activation
o Circle
o MSISDN
o End user email id

Once the request gets processed within 24 working hours, end user will receive confirmation email & SMS, mentioning the below steps to be followed:

o End user need to send the SMS “eSIM
< space >registered email ID”
to 199 (Note : this is toll-free and not case sensitive).

o Post that end user will receive a confirmation SMS. Reply with "ESIMY" to confirm the eSIM change request within 15 minutes of receiving the message.

Step 2:

Post the confirmation SMS, end user will receive another SMS from 199 asking to provide consent over a call

After providing the consent on the call, end user will receive a final SMS regarding the QR Code which he/she would have received on the registered email id

This is a unique QR code applicable for a one- time use on a single device only.

Important info : Incase end user doesn’t receive the QR Code, please check your spam/junk folder or search for sender ID "esim@vodafoneidea.com".

How to access the QR code menu

Please make sure that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Click on "Settings" > Select "Network & Internet" > Click on "Mobile Network" > Click on "Download a SIM instead" > Click on "Next"

Scan the QR code received on mail

Your eSIM will be activated within 30 minutes after scanning the QR code

Follow the prompts on the phone.

Start the pairing process of the Apple Watch and iPhone.

Submit to proceed.

No, once pairing of Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) is completed, and the Apple Watch is connected to a cellular network, the Apple Watch can be used independently as an extension of the primary iPhone device to use cellular services with the same -terms and conditions as available for the primary iPhone device. There is no need for proximity between the primary device and Apple Watch. However, for connection via Bluetooth, proximity is required.

On the Apple Watch's control panel you will see green dots at the top left corner. This is an indication that you are connected to a cellular network. The green dots will only appear if your iPhone is not within the Bluetooth range with your Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular).

You will need to pair your Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) again to your new iPhone. Your new iPhone will also need to be running on the iOS 13.4 or later version to be compatible with Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular).

You will need to un-pair your Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) from your iPhone. You will also be required to call 199 to deactivate the eSIM service.

There are no charges for deactivating or un-pairing the Apple watch.
