Each employee requires a unique email address for receiving their personalised QR code, which serves as the digital key to activate eSIM functionality. This email-based authentication ensures secure distribution and prevents unauthorised activation attempts.
The authorised company signatory submits a formal eSIM activation request via email to corporatecare.india@vodafoneidea.com. This correspondence must include explicit consent for the eSIM activation process, specify the telecom circle, list mobile numbers requiring activation, and provide end-user email addresses for QR code delivery.
Vi Business processes these requests within 24 working hours. Upon approval, end users receive confirmation via SMS and email containing detailed instructions for the next phase.
End users initiate the activation by sending an SMS with the format "eSIM <space> registered email ID" to 199, which is Vi's dedicated support number. This toll-free message triggers the verification process.
Subsequently, users receive a confirmation SMS requesting validation. Responding with "ESIMY" within 15 minutes confirms the eSIM conversion request and advances to the final stage. This time-sensitive verification layer ensures intentional activation and prevents accidental conversions.
Following successful confirmation, Vi Business generates a unique, device-specific QR code delivered to the registered email address. This code represents your digital SIM profile and remains valid for single-use activation on one device only.
Users should check their spam or junk folders if the email doesn't appear in the primary inbox. The sender identification esim@vodafoneidea.com can assist in locating the message through email search functions.
How much time it takes to activate eSIM depends on your device manufacturer. Generally, the process completes within 30 minutes to 2 hours after scanning the QR code.
For Apple devices: Navigate to Settings > Mobile Data > Add Data Plan, then scan the received QR code. Follow the prompts on the phone.
For Samsung devices: Access Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager > Add Mobile Plan > Add Using QR Code. Follow the prompts on the phone.
For Google Pixel: Open Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Download a SIM instead. Click on "Next", then scan the received QR code. Follow the prompts on the phone.
After scanning, the device automatically downloads and installs the eSIM profile. Ensure your device maintains active Wi-Fi connectivity throughout this process to facilitate seamless profile transfer.
Upon successful profile installation, your device displays network connectivity within the specified timeframe. The previous physical SIM becomes inactive, and all services transfer to the embedded digital format. On the Apple Watch's control panel you will see green dots at the top left corner. This is an indication that you are connected to a cellular network. The green dots will only appear if your iPhone is not within the Bluetooth range with your Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular).
You will need to pair your Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) again to your new iPhone. Your new iPhone will also need to be running on the iOS 13.4 or later version to be compatible with Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular).
