Business Challenge
The deployment of IoT-enabled smart meters necessitates uninterrupted connectivity to capture, transmit, and analyse consumption data, as well as to disconnect/connect meters for overdue accounts. Modem logs were captured in collaboration with the device OEM and meter manufacturer at multiple locations.● In-depth analysis:
Logs were thoroughly analysed to identify underlying issues causing registration and latching failures● Diagnostic insights:
Testing revealed that devices were placing the PLMN in the forbidden list and not refreshing it. Recommendations were shared with the OEM to refresh the FPLMN at regular intervals to maintain seamless connectivity.
